When we upload a document from Salesforce (DAL Integration) to DocuSign, there are multiple dynamic editable form fields that are present in the document but after it gets uploaded to the docusign, the form fields are misaligned and doesn’t work as expected.

As per DocuSign(case #15506376 ) the form field data conversion functionality is designed to work only when a document is uploaded directly into the DocuSign tagger page (Prepare and Send in Salesforce). This behavior does not apply when sending a PDF from Salesforce.
As the step to detect form fields in the rasterizer, which is triggered on an upload into Docusign directly, is not used when sending over a PDF from Salesforce, it is expected behavior at this point that form fields are not recognized as per DocuSign.

We are expecting that the  form field data conversion functionality works when uploading/sending a PDF from salesforce directly. the alternative resolution to this are not usable for our business need. this should be available through enhancement at DocuSign end.

Thanks so much for sharing your idea, @Akshay! We really appreciate you taking the time to bring this up.

Just to clarify, this isn’t a DocuSign limitation, it’s a Salesforce one. Salesforce automatically strips out interactive, third‑party, or non‑native HTML elements to maintain data security and keep the platform consistent.

That said, there is a workaround you can try using a DocuSign Envelope Template. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Place Fields section.
  2. Once the GIF loader finishes, click the back arrow in the top-left corner.
  3. This will take you to the DocuSign recipient view.
  4. From there, you can replace the static document with your fillable form.

Once uploaded, the document will be recognized the same as the document does in Docusign when uploaded.
