To avoid the risk of documents being completed without visible signatures in the designated fields, I suggest adding a warning during the envelope-sending process.

If no signature fields are added, the system should display a clear message such as:

“No signature fields have been added to this envelope. If you continue, recipients will only need to click ‘Finish’, and the document will be marked as completed without capturing a visible signature. Do you wish to proceed?”

This type of warning would help ensure that senders are fully informed of the consequences before sending the envelope and would reduce the likelihood of completed documents being rejected due to missing visible signatures.

 Hi @Tatjana D.

Welcome to the Docusign Community, and thank you for your feedback!

We have converted the idea into a question, as we believe the functionality you're seeking is already in place.
DocuSign currently provides a pop-up message prompting senders to add fields to an envelope if none have been included before sending.

This is the pop-up message if no fields were added to the envelope at all.

This is the pop-up message if a specific recipient has no fields assigned to them.

However, is your request specifically pertains to a warning message that highlights the absence of signature fields in particular?

Sincerely,

Hi Melanie.Panguito

Many thanks for the quick reaction to my post.

Correct, my request specifically pertains to a warning message that highlights the absence of signature fields in particular. The key point of my comment is that DocuSign should clearly warn senders when no signature fields are added, as this results in completed documents without visible signatures, which can lead to acceptance issues.

Thank you!

Best.

Tatjana
