I’ve opened a link from an e-mail to a document I need to sign. Upon accidentally accepting an incomplete hand-drawn signature, I’m unable to correct this. I’ve also found through your support website that this is apparently by design, and the only way around this is to abandon this document, ask the sender to resend and start over. All I need is to correct this one signature.

I think this is a very poor user experience and would hope something could be done about this!

Thank you for sharing your idea, @sfranzen! After reviewing, we can confirm that this request is possible in DocuSign, and there are several solutions depending on the situation. 🙂

It’s correct that first-time signers cannot change signature during the signing process. If changes are needed, the most common approach is to contact the sender so they can update the envelope (this doesn’t always mean sending a new one).

However, we have other available options. In some cases, signers can create a DocuSign account, which gives them more control over their signature preferences and allows them to update or manage their signature for future documents. This is especially useful if you expect to sign multiple documents or want to avoid reaching out to the sender each time.

Please note that there are other factors that may prevent signature changes, such as the sender locking recipient names or the document originating from an account on another server (cross-site).

You can get more details on that here:
