When using eSign API/SDK, can we somehow enable the option to attach the template PDF of the template/document to be signed via the developer console? If yes, then how?

I know that after completing the signing process, the signer receives an email that contains the signed template. But in my case, I want to include the unsigned doc/template as an attachment in the sign request email sent to the signer!!

Hello Versatilevats,

Thank you for contacting Docusign Customer Support.

At this time our system is designed to provide the signed document in our emails.

You could, however, change the account settings to remove the attachment from our system's email:
Envelope Delivery

Then you can send the original/unsigned document from your system after receiving an alert from our server that the document was signed/completed:
Create a Connect Configuration

We hope this helps.

Best regards,

Adrian | Docusign Developer Support

@versatilevats

This is not possible, as the unsigned document can only be accessed securely via the Docusign platform. Attaching an unsigned PDF that does not yet contain any certificates would allow the recipient to modify the PDF. It is also not possible to have transparency of what happened to the email was sent for audit purposes.

You cannot attach any document to the email notifications from Docusign eSignature. The only option is to include the signed document in the completion email, if it is less than 5 MB and the sending account was configured accordingly.
