Question

(issue) Recipients have the right to edit documents when receiving it (they should not)

Hi there,

I am setting up a docusign sending to some recipients through the developer API. Everything works fine but the emails recipients received show a document that can be edited by the recipients. Why is that? none of the fields I have added are editable. (the same thing happens when I test the signing in the docusign UI, meaning issue is not in my code).

Thanks for your help

Hi @pierreomnilane ,

The screenshot shows that you are using Freeform Signing.  The recipient sees the drag-and-drop field menu on the left side of the document because the fields were not correctly assigned. To resolve this, please ensure that you have added the necessary fields (tabs) correctly for the recipient when creating the envelope. Refer to the articles below for examples of the correct implementation.
