In-person signer and the customer to sign the same document at same time

What you’re asking for – an in-person signer and a customer both signing the same document at the same time on the same screen from a single email link – isn’t supported in the standard Docusign eSignature flow today.

A few details about how it works:

• Each envelope defines separate recipients (signer, in-person signer, etc.), and each one has their own signing session. Even if you put them in the same routing order, Docusign still runs separate sessions per recipient, not a single shared session for two different people.
• You can absolutely have both parties sign the same document and even use the same physical device: for example, the in-person session is hosted first, then you open the second recipient’s email link on the same device so they can sign. The document will show both signatures, but those signatures are captured sequentially, not simultaneously.
• If your process allows one person to sign in multiple places (e.g., acting as both “Host” and “Customer”), you can assign multiple signature fields to a single recipient (or configure the same email/recipient in multiple roles with the same routing order). That still represents one legal person, not two separate parties, and it doesn’t change the “one recipient at a time” model.

So in short: you can get both signatures on the same document and capture them on the same device, but Docusign does not support a single signing session where two distinct recipients sign together on the same screen at the same time.
