Hi Team,

I've been testing a web app that generates prescriptions. The process involves the nurse entering the client’s information and selecting the required medications. There are two recipients in the workflow: the first is myself (to review that the document is populated correctly), and the second is the doctor, who needs to sign it.

Up until yesterday afternoon, I was receiving the DocuSign email almost instantly. However, since then, the emails have been significantly delayed—sometimes taking several hours to arrive.

Could this be due to a usage limit on my account? Have I possibly triggered a throttle by running too many tests?

Are you using the Demo (developer) environment? DocuSign does have rate limiting and throttling mechanisms, especially in developer/demo environments. If you’ve sent a large number of envelopes in a short period, the system might delay non-critical email notifications to reduce load.

Use unique email addresses to avoid triggering spam filters.

Yes John I am using the demo environment, I was under the belief that I had to use a demo account in order to get my app to do 20 successful runs in a row, is this correct? I probably tried 15 tests in a 2 hour span.

Yes.   That is correct.   Have you tried using unique email addresses to avoid triggering spam filters?

Normally limits applied to the envelopes, should be applied at the envelope level, and not the emails. For further verification, maybe you can log a case to the Support Team to verify your account settings.
