Docusign API: Create envelope with a signing link instead of specifying the recipient email

Is it possible in Docusign to create a way where, when creating an envelope, a link is also generated for it so that I can send this link to someone to sign? In this case, the envelope itself would not have a predefined recipient; instead, the recipient would be whoever has access to the link. If so, how can I implement this? Is there any documentation I can follow?

Hi, I checked and it seems you want to send the signing link to the recipient via the WhatsApp and the sender of the WhatsApp message should be from your store's WhatsApp account.

Unfortunately, there's no way to get the signing link other than the embedded signing link. Note that the embedded signing link expires after 5 minutes and is one-time use only, so it isn't recommended to use it in your WhatsApp message, since you don't know when the recipient will sign. More information about the embedded signing is here: https://developers.docusign.com/docs/esign-rest-api/esign101/concepts/embedding/embedded-signing/

Regarding WhatsApp Delivery, your understanding is correct that the WhatsApp message is sent from Docusign and you can't change it to your store's WhatsApp account.
For WhatsApp messages, Docusign has a verified WhatsApp business account. Messages from the account bear a green checkmark next to the name, which indicates it is verified by Meta as a legitimate entity.

If you are okay with the current WhatsApp delivery provided by Docusign, this is the only viable approach for getting the signature from the recipient through WhatsApp.

I think you are asking for a Power Form.  Can you check this information? What is a PowerForm?

I think you are asking for a Power Form.  Can you check this information? What is a PowerForm?

I don’t think PowerForms would be the best option in my context. To give some brief background: I have an online store where, once a customer’s order is invoiced, I need to send them a link to sign a pickup confirmation for the order. I already have the whole flow defined for identifying when the order is invoiced and for sending the message itself. However, I need a signature management system, which is where I believe DocuSign could help.

The process I would need is to make a few requests to the available APIs, sending the PDF file that I already have prepared. So I wouldn’t need to create a new document or anything like that, but rather create an envelope using this existing PDF and the necessary information.

One important detail — and this might be why things are a bit more complicated — is that the document would not be sent to the person’s email, but instead through WhatsApp. That’s why I would need a signing link. In addition, the message itself would need to be sent from the store’s WhatsApp account to the customer.

I did see an API that creates the envelope and sends it via SMS or WhatsApp, but in that case the message would not be sent from the store’s WhatsApp account. However, I might be mistaken about that, so please feel free to correct me if that’s the case.
