I (KC) need to send a document to a client dept. manager and their team for signature by the manager and review by the team. Then a 2nd signature is needed (mine) before sending copies of the completed document to additional individuals and everyone else in the workflow.  See below.

If the Dept Mgr is Role 1 (Needs to Sign) and their team members are all Role 2 (Needs to Review) and this is followed by Role 3 (Needs to Sign 2nd signer-me) followed by multiple Role 4 (Receives a copy) recipients.

  1. Will the 2nd signer receive the notification to sign only after Role 1 has signed the document all the team members reviewed the document?
  2. If so, if 1 team member does not review the document is it possible to correct or by-pass that reviewer so the 2nd signer receives the notification to sign?
  3. Will the recipients in Role 4 (Receives a copy) only receive the copy after the 2nd signer signs the document?
  4. And will all the recipients in Roles 1 and 2 also receive a copy of the the document with the signature of both signers once Role 3 has signed?

Thank you,

KAL

Hello @KAL
Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! We appreciate your question and assure you that we are fully committed to providing you with the best service possible.

I hope this helps!
1. Will the 2nd signer receive the notification to sign only after Role 1 has signed the document and all Role 2 members reviewed the document?
👉Yes. Docusign enforces the signing order. Role 2 (Needs to Review) must complete their actions before the envelope routes to Role 3 (the 2nd signer). Only once all reviewers in Role 2 finish will Role 3 be notified to sign.
2. If one team member in Role 2 does not review the document, is it possible to bypass them so the 2nd signer still receives the notification?
👉No, not automatically. All recipients in Role 2 must complete their assigned action before the routing continues. If a reviewer is no longer needed, the sender (or account admin, depending on permissions) must correct the envelope in progress to remove or reassign that recipient.
3. Will the recipients in Role 4 (Receives a Copy) only receive the document after the 2nd signer (Role 3) signs?
👉Yes. Since Role 4 comes after Role 3 in the routing order, those recipients will only receive the final signed copy once Role 3 has signed.
4. Will all recipients in Roles 1 and 2 also receive a copy of the completed document after both signers have signed?
👉Yes. By default, everyone who participated in the envelope (signers and reviewers) receives a final completed copy once the envelope is fully executed.
