Hi there. A difficult one I believe….

I have a customer who has 2 email domains. One is user in docusign and the other one isn’t.

The issue is that senders are sending the envelopes sometimes to the docusign users some times to the other email. The issue is that the recipient of those envelopes, lose track of the ones that are send to his  non docusign user email.

Is there a way they can solve this? The client was asking if it was possible to restrict in the email box in docusign platform to edit to certain emails. I said that’s not possible. I also suggested to provide internal communication to tell the senders which email domain they need to use however there is inconsistency because some docusign users have one domain and some others the other one.

Any other suggestions someone may think?

Many thanks in advance

Hello @susa,

Thanks for reaching out to the Docusign Community!

Currently there is no account‑level feature to restrict recipient email domains. If senders are accidentally using the wrong email because it auto‑populates from their contacts, one suggestion is to remove the other email address from shared or personal contact lists. That said, senders can still manually enter any valid email address, so this isn’t a fully consistent workaround. Since we cannot enforce domain restrictions, the most reliable way to prevent issues is to provide internal guidance on the sender side.

I hope this helps clarify things! Let us know if you have any further questions

Thank you for your answer. Thinking of solving the client issue of losing visibility on the envelopes to sign… Provided that they have an unlimited users subscription; if that second email domain is added as a user in the account. What would be the impact for end user? I see how they will need to log in with each domain email to check their envelopes but can those two emails somehow be linked so the end user only needs to log in with one of their emails and still see all the envelopes sent to each email domain? Thanks in advance :-)

Hello @susa,

Thanks for getting back.

They can create an account using the other email; however, each account will remain separate, and the user will need to log in with the specific domain email to view the envelopes tied to that account. At this time, there isn’t a way to link two different email domains.

If they can add the account, another option is to set up shared access. This way,  the user can manage envelopes from the other account within a single login. Please note, though, that signing cannot be done through shared access; it only allows visibility and management.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
