To be clear, this is an issue of the document being matched to a template and then the automatically detected fields are being put where you don’t want them? Or is this an issue when you select a field and manually tell it to auto-place copies of that field?
I upload a document that I have a templete of, but the document has 6 areas for a signature. On the template I’ve made there is only 1 place I would like the signature to appear. The thing is when the template is matched to the document there is a signature field for all 6 auto populate instead of just the single place I would like the signature to go.
You’d have to give that one signature spot its own identifier or manually place the signature block. One workaround is to put a unique bit of text in the document, but in white so that it’s not visible when DocuSign flattens it. White text that says something like “hiddenSignature” and then use that same text for your Auto Place trigger.
So just to make sure, you mean signature block, like the one you drag from the left side to and it has the little “sign” in it. I’ve placed a single one of those, but im going to try the “hiddenSignature” suggestion.
So I fugred it out! I was initially selecting the “assign to” option in the convert PDF form fields, but that was making the form auto place the signatures in every single field that said the word signature.
If I choose Keep PDF form data instead then there is no auto place that happens.
