I am sorry to hear that you haven’t been able to save your template, but I will assist you in solving the issue.
To prevent this from reoccurring you will need to ensure that you have created your template in Templates>New>Create New Template. And, clicking on Save and Close, at the end of the template creation process, without pressing this button, the changes will not be saved.
Any user with Template permissions will be able to create templates.

If you don’t see Templates in your menu tab, you’ll have to contact the DocuSign Admin at your company and ask that your User Profile be updated. If you don’t know who your admin is, please contact your IT department or your Help Desk.
