Some recipients will not sign and I need to place 'Not Applicable'

There are two recipients who have communicated that they will not be signing the documents. I discussed this with my stakeholders, who told me that it would be OK to not have them sign the documents, and that I just need to place a textbox there with ‘Not Applicable’. To clarify, their names will be present in the document, but will not have their signatures.

I attached a file where already one person is shown with ‘Not Applicable’. This was already the case before uploading the document to docusign. I would like to add the text 'Not applicable’ to the 2 empty ones as well. I tried to correct the file by removing the signature and date boxes and replacing them with text boxes, but then it would resend the file. For some reason, I also can't alter them by downloading and editing the PDF for some reason.

Is there a more elegant solution for this perhaps?

Hello @KobinReij,

Hi there, and welcome to the DocuSign Community!

Thanks for sharing your question. You can replace the signature fields with text boxes that say “Not Applicable” during correction. When you resend the envelope after making that change, it will only go to recipients who haven’t signed or completed their part yet. Those who already signed won’t be asked again, and their signatures remain valid.

I hope this helps clarify things! If you found this response helpful, feel free to give it a like or mark it as the best answer. Let us know if you have any further questions
