How Phone Authentication Works, Phone authentication is a recipient identity verification method that requires an extra level of verification before accessing documents. Recipients can request a one-time passcode to be delivered to their phone via SMS or phone call, and once they enter the code, they can access and sign their documents. The authentication process is recorded on the Certificate of Completion and Envelope History, and it supports over 70 languages and 190 countries.

Note: Some advanced features and options are supported only in specific Docusign plans. Your account plan might not support some of the options discussed in this help topic. Contact your account administrator for more information about which options are available for your account.
