Question

My recipients didn't receive an email notification, they had to create an account to view the document. How do I fix that in the free trial version?

I sent out a document to my recipients using the free trial version, but they didn’t receive any notification via email. We all have used Docusign in the past (without an account) and had no issue receiving and viewing the document. Their emails are also not blocking and filtering anything from Docusign. They had to create an account to view and sign the document. Is there something in the settings that I can change to prevent this? I don’t want my recipient have to create an account to view the document; I want them to receive an email notification. Is this because I’m using the free trial version?

Hello @odallas120
Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! I understand how frustrating this can be, especially since your recipients were previously able to access and sign Docusign documents without creating an account.

The free trial should not cause this. Recipients generally don't need a DocuSign account unless a login requirement has been enabled for the account.

Please check Admin > Security Settings > Login Requirements and make sure it is set to “Not Required to Log In.”

If this setting is already correct, please provide the Envelope ID (you can find it in the envelope details). We can use that information to look into what may have prompted your recipients to create an account and why they did not receive the email notification.

Sincerely,

Hi Ma. Cubio,

I went into Security Settings, but there’s no Login Requirement section nor is that under signing settings or sending settings.

Hi @odallas120
Could you send me the envelope ID via private message so we can look into it further?
