Hi,

Is there any possibility to add a validation or stop sending envelope if user try to send it for signature without adding Signature placeholder.

Thanks,

Sharath Reddy

Hi @Sharath Reddy— glad you checked in!

While a pop-up reminder appears when a sender attempts to send an envelope without any placed fields, the envelope will still be successfully sent if the sender proceeds. Currently, Docusign does not offer a direct functionality to completely stop an envelope from being sent if no fields are placed.

You may explore the use of Document Visibility. When enabled, the system will generate an error and prevent the envelope from being sent if fields are missing 👉 Account Settings for Document Visibility

Another option you may consider is creating and utilizing Templates, Admins enforcing the use of pre-configured templates, or, within the templates’ advanced options settings, selecting 'Quicksend only'. This setting restricts senders to simply completing recipient and envelope information, and sends without the option to click on ‘Advanced Edit’, which restricts senders to using the template as is.
