i can't change my signature and initials on a document

I was sent a document for signature by a 3rd party. I opened the relevant link and uploaded my custom signature. I clicked the region to be signed. Unfortunately the image initials appear too small in the document.  Now every time I open the link it uses the same initials to sign and I can't change it. I tried to hover of the logo to get the change signature option but it doesn't show up. How do I resolve this issue?

Hi @Linda Daly, and @san,

Thank you for sharing your issue.

If the option to change your signature is not present during the signing session, after left clicking the signature field, then you will need to contact the sender so they can change your name in their envelope.

Hello @DokuSigh @pleaserespond @matthew.holmes,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! Apologies for the delay in response but we appreciate your question and assure you that we are fully committed to providing you with the best service possible.

During signing session, you will still be able to change your desired signature on the envelope either you adopt signature, draw or upload.
Once you open the envelope and click on the Signature Field here’s what will show up.

Either you adopt, draw or upload and decided to change your signature, you just have to click the signature field with your signature, and it will give you option to either “Change” or “Clear”

When you click on “Change” you will be routed to this screen where you can “Add” or “Edit” your signature.

Whether you click on “Add” or “Edit” you will be routed back to this screen Adopt Your Signature to redo your signature.

Note that once you completed the signing process, you will no longer have the option to change your signature for that envelope and you have to contact the sender to resend the envelope. Once envelope is completed you can no longer modify it.

If you found the response to be a useful solution to your question, please mark it as the best answer by clicking “Select as Best” to make it easier for other users to find. Thank you!

This is EXTREMELY frustrating. I should be able to change MY signature without having to contact the original sender. Its time consuming and its frustrating.

Hello @Mn1258
I understand that contacting the envelope's sender may take some time and that you need to wait until the envelope has been corrected and resent. However, you will only need to contact the sender if the options below are no longer available.

During the signing session, you will still be able to change your desired signature on the envelope, whether you adopt a signature, draw a signature, or upload a signature.
Once you open the envelope and click on the Signature Field, here’s what will show up.

If you adopt, draw, or upload and decide to change your signature, you must click the signature field with your signature, which will give you the option to either “Change” or “Clear.”

When you click on “Change,” you will be routed to this screen where you can “Add” or “Edit” your signature.

Whether you click  “Add” or “Edit,” you will be routed back to this screen, Adopt Your Signature, to redo your signature.

Note that once you have completed the signing process, you will no longer have the option to change your signature for that envelope. You will have to contact the sender to resend the envelope. Once the envelope is completed, you can no longer modify it.

I had the same issue just now. I believe this is a gitch and needs to be fixed. I had to sign with a generic DocuSign provided signature instead of the signature that I uploaded because it would not allow me to change the signature. I had others signing after me and could not print out the document and sign in wet ink.

finally found a way! go to https://account.docusign.com/me/ then on the right to your account, then 'manage profile' then signatures then you can add or delete. I deleted all the ones I didn't want then added my signature and initial on my app (easier for me to draw it on there). Had to the do inital steps on a desktop computer/web browser.

It is difficult to understand why such a fundamental function—allowing a signature to be modified without requiring the entire document to be resent—is not available. Suggesting that the sender simply “resend the document” is not always a practical solution. In many cases, such as when dealing with HR departments, the process of resending can take several days. This delay can have serious real-world consequences; for example, access to housing may depend on a signed contract being submitted promptly. In situations where a single week’s delay could mean losing the opportunity to secure accommodation, the absence of this basic functionality becomes more than an inconvenience—it can directly affect people’s lives. I wish you would remember your users are human beings with a whole life and not just data wandering in an electronic virtual administration...

Hello @dokuslyverin
We understand your frustration regarding the inability to change the signature within your Docusign envelope and the workflow delay this caused by requiring you to reach out to the sender for a resend. We recognize the significant impact this has on your efficiency..While the option to update signatures is generally available within the Docusign account and directly within the envelope itself, if these options are not present, it indicates that the sender of the document has specifically disabled this functionality. Unfortunately, this setting is entirely controlled by the sender's account, and as such, you will be unable to alter the signature on your end. We hope this provides clarity.Any feedback and product suggestions are welcome here :point_right:Submit a feature request.
