Error message: "resource token authentication error"

I am trying to send out a document for signature but my client is receiving the error message “resource token authentication error”. I have his correct email address, what could be the issue please?

I am a new user and having the same problem.  the first signer had no issues.  The 2nd signer has the same error message.  I’ve located the Envelope ID.  How does this help?  Thanks,  Bruce

I found simply sending the envelope again solved the issue, although I’m still unsure why it happens in the first place

My client just received the Resource Token Authentication Error twice.  The resource token used for authentication in invalid or has expired.

 

How can I fix it?

I hope you’re doing well.  Thanks for reporting this issue. Checking the error, it could be due to the secure session between your recipients browser and DocuSign timing out or getting interrupted. They may try the following steps to see if this help:

  • Refresh the page and try again
  • Clear browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser or network, in case something is affecting the connection
  • Try using a different device

If the issue continues, please share your Envelope ID so we can look into it further.
