When a Docusign has already been generated and sent, how can I edit the email address or phone number, etc. when there are duplicate recipients and neither of them have signed? It keeps duplicating their names. So whoever I click on to edit, it will change the 2nd name to match the 1st and vice versa. I’ve set the signing order, which is a prompt you get when you try to proceed with the duplicate names, but it is still happening. Does anyone know how to correct?

Thanks for sharing the details. I tested this on my end and saw the same thing happen when both recipients have the same Role Name. When two signers share the same role (for example, both are labeled “Client”), DocuSign may mix up or duplicate their information when you try to edit them. However, when each recipient has a unique role name (like “Client 1” and “Client 2”), their details stay separate and can be updated correctly. To avoid this issue, it’s best to assign a different role name to each recipient before sending the envelope.

There are times when you might want to use multiple templates in one envelope. Those templates could contain the same role recipients and even the same named recipients. For example, let's say you have two templates you send to tenants that both use the role "Tenant" as the first recipient. If you use both templates, you could merge these two duplicate recipients into one so your tenant receives the documents once to sign.
Duplicate recipients occur when the same recipient is listed more than once at the same position in the routing order. To combine duplicate recipients, the recipients must meet certain conditions.

Hi! Thank you for your response. I don’t know if we’re talking about the same thing, but maybe we are and you are saying I need to merge recipients. Just to be clear, so I don’t want to combine the recipients because I have two separate people that are required to sign in order for the Docusign to be considered complete. However, what happens when I need to edit one of their contact information, it will duplicate the same name on both of the recipients. For example, the Docusign is initially generated for John Doe and Jane Doe to both sign the same document. When I have to edit John Doe’s email address, it will automatically change Jane Doe’s name to “John Doe”. How can I prevent it from duplicating the name on both recipients because they both need to sign?
