I would like to have a conditional field revealed only upon execution when the document is sent to the recipient. Is this possible?
Hello
Welcome to the Docusign Community.
Only as an idea, you could create a conditional field with an action to be taken by the recipient as for example a required checkbox or radio button or even a required field they must fill in.
So if your recipient takes an action in any of those fields the conditional field will show up.
I hope that helps.
Alexandre
Hi Alexandre! Thank you, that is what I initially did but the problem is that once the check box is signed and the field is revealed the signer can then erase the signature and not execute the envelope. I am trying to get the field to show once the execution has taken place.
Hi
Could you kindly walk us through the steps you were taking and provide more details about what you would like to achieve? If you have the exact message, errors, or screenshots of how you are configuring the conditional fields, it would be helpful for us to understand better. Please conceal any Personally Identifiable Information in the screenshot. If you're template does not contain any PII, you can also share the JSON file here. Thank you!

Leigh, if I understand, you want to have them sign, and then once signed, additional fields show up. But you don’t want them to be able to undo the signature at that point.
You can do that in a roundabout way by setting a signing order make your signer both recipient 1 and recipient 2. When you declare the signing order, recipient 2 won’t see anything until recipient 1 completes their portion. Recipient 2 can see any fields filled in by Recipient 1, but can’t not change them.
So if you set the person up as both, you effectively have a two-stage agreement and they can’t see anything until they lock in the first stage.
Note: This means the person will receive a second email invitation to sign after they complete the recipient 1 section. It won’t be a fluid jump from being recipient 1 to recipient 2. They’ll have to close and reopen it when they make the change.
Note: All fields for recipient 1 will lock, not just the signature. Any other changes and you’d have to void and send a new envelope.
