We received a completed document from a client along with its Certificate of Completion. The envelope ID on the certificate matches the ID on the document, so we know they belong together. However, the Certificate of Completion does not display the client’s signature image—it only shows the word “SIGNED,” even though the actual signature does appear within the document itself. The certificate also does not show the signing method (e.g., pre‑selected style, drawn signature, etc.). It does show the send/view/sign timestamps, the IP address, and the signature stamp.

Is there a legitimate reason why the signature image and signing method would be missing from the Certificate of Completion? We have not encountered this before.

For additional context: the client signed an earlier version of the same document a couple of hours before this envelope was sent. We do not have the earlier document, but we do have its Certificate of Completion. That earlier certificate does display the signature image and the signing method (pre‑selected style). The signature shown in that earlier certificate matches the signature that appears on the final document from the second envelope.

We are trying to understand why the second Certificate of Completion would omit the signature image and signing method while the first one includes them
