We have 4-5 signers reviewing and signing a document. One of them is an external party. After the external party signs, we don't want the entire envelope (which includes internal documents) to go to the external party. We don't actually need the external signed to get a copy at all. Is it possible to limit the completed copies that seem to get sent out automatically once the envelope is completely signed?

Yes you can restrict what the Recipient views and the completed document attachment after envelope completion, but only partially based on your post. The feature is called Document Visibility and you can restrict what documents are seen during signature based on fields added such as the Signature field. Now although you can restrict the documents they see based on the fields added for the Recipient, which also restricts what they get in the final email, you cannot stop them from getting a copy of the document based on what they signed. (unless you turn off the attachment to the completed envelope entirely). If you turn off attachments to the completed envelope, it turns it off for all Signers. Remember that even if you turn off the attachment to the completed envelope the Recipient will still have access to the document in their DocuSign inbox.

Here is an article explaining the Document Visibility feature..
