Can I make the last-in-time signature auto-populate the agreement effective date? I’ve been told that I can, but haven’t figured it out yet. Any help is much appreciated.

Hello @West.Lee,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! I appreciate you bringing your question to this Community.

You can set up the last signer's signature to automatically populate the agreement's effective date by using the “Date Signed” field, which can be configured to reflect the date of the last signature. This requires setting a signing order so that the last signer is clearly defined. Here's how:

  • Enable "Set signing order" when adding recipients.
  • Add a "Date Signed" field to the document and assign this field to the last recipient in the signing order.

When the final recipient signs, the "Date Signed" field will automatically be populated with the date of that signature.

If signers are signing in parallel without a signing order, there is no built-in placeholder to automatically capture the last signature date.
