Question

Where doesDocusign gets its verification data?

Forum|alt.badge.img

I just failed a verification and one of the questions was “who have you been associated with?” and a bunch of names to choose from.

Am I supposed to remember everyone’s name in my life?

Where can I see and correct the data used for this?

I had a mail fraud case years ago, so I have no idea how extensive that problem might be.

This is irritating, and then just reading a few posts here, it’s actually infuriating. I get why people hate technology - it’s run by corporations that have no clue what they’re doing, and we’re all just handing our data to them without consent. It’s so frustrating.

Hello @whatprivacy,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! We appreciate your question and assure you that we are fully committed to providing you with the best service possible.

I’m sorry for all the inconvenience this has caused you. I understand that you are looking to understand how Knowledge Authentication Questions are collected, and I will clarify the topic for you.
LexisNexis, our Identity Verification Service Provider, generates the questions based on public records related to the signer’s name and last name.

If the recipient is unable to answer the questions generated by LexisNexis, the sender will need to change the Recipient Authentication method to an equivalent, such as ID Verification or Phone Authentication. You may reach out to the sender and let them know about this problem and so they can help you further instead.

You can find more details on the source of LexisNexis data, here:

Please let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you!
