Aydin first began experimenting with code at the age of fourteen, building his own programs in Visual Basic. Throughout school, he continued to develop personal projects, learning Java and exploring the fundamentals of object-oriented programming. He also dabbled in C++, Python, HTML, and CSS. It wasn’t until his first full-time job that he would explore the scope that programming and, more specifically, automation, had. Aydin’s first full-time job that had elements of software development was in the film Industry, working for Pinewood Studios; here he refined his skills in Python and learned AppleScript in order to streamline processes, reduce human error, and save cost by writing scripts oriented around data handling and validation.
Aydin now works at Contengo Ltd as a Software Engineer, developing solutions in the Financial Advice space. Here, he tackles client challenges head-on, from helping firms identify their needs all the way through to delivery.
Aydin has just finished implementing a new feature to Contengo’s Portal application leveraging the Docusign eSignature REST API. The portal serves both advisors and clients; this feature enables advisors and support staff to send documents for signing more efficiently, while clients can access and review all their documents in one place, securely and seamlessly. Aydin is using the API calls that allow for envelope creation and generating embedded URLs to achieve this seamless UX for advisor and client alike.
In addition to the front-facing UI to send one envelope at a time, Docusign is also being used, in conjunction with an internal document generation tool, to create documents on the fly, bespoke to a specific client, based on their needs, before sending the documents to the client for signing and capturing their response. All of this can be achieved without any human touchpoints using the Docusign createTemplate, createPowerForm, getEnvelope, and getPowerFormData API calls.
When Aydin isn’t at work, he will most commonly be found in his local climbing gym, or, in the oh-so-brief English summer, playing cricket. As well as these pastimes, he is also learning Krav Maga, baking cakes, travelling, snowboarding, reading, slacklining, saying yes to things, and generally trying to go on adventures.
