Hi all,

I have a library of MS-Word documents outside CLM, with each document containing a description of a product.

For example:

Product_A.docx

Product_B.docx

Product_C.docx

and so on.

I have a Salesforce quote which may be selling one or more of the above products. For example, my Salesforce quote has products A and C on it.

Today, I have a Doc Gen config which generates a contract document based on the Salesforce quote using a CLM template.

I would like to generate a combined document in CLM which would contain the contract document as well as the product descriptions  documents appended to the contract document. In the case of my example: contract document and Product_A.docx and Product_C.docx in one combined document.

Is this possible in CLM? What would be the best way to achieve this?

Thanks for your guidance!

Welcome to the DocuSign Community!

Yes, you can definitely achieve this in a CLM workflow by leveraging product descriptions along with condition-based logic using Decision steps combined with the "Combine Documents" step. This would allow you to append the relevant product description documents to the contract dynamically.

However, a simpler and more efficient approach would be to use a merge tag inside the contract template itself and insert the appropriate product description documents directly into the contract. This reduces the complexity of the workflow and keeps the process streamlined within a single document generation step.

Thanks!

@Pawan Gangwani Thanks.

Our product descriptions are very long running into 3-4 pages for each product and we have around a 300 product description documents. This would make the single document template extremely bulky.

Hello,

Well see that many number of product descriptions documents, you will need to rely on the workflow configuration.
you will have to configure the workflow in way to find the document dynamically. and combine them conditionally.

Thanks!
