How do I prevent each sent envelope's subject title from automatically beginning with "Please Docusign...?" It autofills this phrase every time and I can't sort out how to deselect this option.

I think the best option is to create a Template and set the email body and email subject as you want it to be (default) then "Use the Template" when crafting an envelope. Here is an article on creating Templates...

Note: Crearting Templates may require a change or new Permission Set to be associated to your DocuSign User by your DocuSign Admin.
