Adding email_settings when creating an envelope throws API_REQUEST_IS_FORBIDDEN error

Forum|alt.badge.img

The error I am getting is as follows:

{"errorCode":"API_REQUEST_IS_FORBIDDEN","message":"The API request is forbidden. Request blocked due to excess usage"}

However when I do not set the email_settings it is working perfectly fine.

I also see in documentation that only users with canManageAccount can use this setting. This is an API key that has been generated. how do I give that access to that key ? Or is that not a best practice ?

@vidyanandfx

  • To call email_settings or other admin-level endpoints, the API user must have canManageAccount.
  • You give that permission by making the DocuSign user associated with the Integration Key an admin (or assigning a custom permission profile that includes canManageAccount).
  • If you only need to do occasional config changes, consider using an admin user just for those tasks and a non-admin user for daily sending.
