We are new to DocuSign and need to understand how shared envelopes/folders work and whether they are going to be useful to us - I can't find any support guides for this

Shared folders are only available for templates, this allows the user to share their templates with other users for future use unless the user to whom the templates were shared to has permission to edit the template, the only one able to do so would be the owner of the template: https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?bundleId=xry1643227563338&topicId=poy1578456398194.html&_LANG=enus

Shared envelopes can only be enabled by an admin, and essentially what it does is provide a certain access level to one user over another user's Manage tab, you can read more here:https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?bundleId=oeq1643226594604&topicId=rdu1656546423934.html&_LANG=enus

Hi, thank you for your response, we have a request from our user community to be able to manage envelopes/documents via a generic email address - these email addresses are not attached to an AD Account, having played around with DocuSign we cannot find a way of this working for the users, are we right in thinking this is in the shared folders area? I am an admin.

If you are looking to send an envelope from a generic email address and provide your users the ability to send from it and/or manage documents from it, your best option would be to create an account for the generic email address and Share Access to the intended users: https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?bundleId=oeq1643226594604&topicId=rdu1656546423934.html&_LANG=enus

Otherwise, everyone would have to send it out from their own account (which, if the recipient replies to the email it will not go to the generic email but to their own) and just share envelopes with the needed users. Shared folders for envelopes do not exist.
