User deletion - what happens to the contacts of a deleted user

Hello docusign community,

 

due to data protection requirements I want to find out what happens to the contacts of a user that are deleted.

Related article: What happens to a user's data once the user is closed?

The article does unfortunatelly does not mention the contacts of a deleted user.

 

There is an API endpoint that can be used for deleting the contacts of a user but what is the default action to happen in case a user is deleted?

Thank you for reaching out to the Docusign Community.

When the user is closed and if they have shared contacts with the account, the account will lose access to those shared contacts. Shared Contacts, Document Custom Fields, and Shared Templates are all owned by the User, so closing the user would cut them off from all other users on the account.

Note: Some advanced features and options are supported only in specific Docusign plans. Your account plan might not support some of the options discussed in this help topic. Contact your account administrator for more information about which options are available for your account. Or, visit our Plans and Pricing web page for more details on the features included with your plan. Compare eSignature plans & pricing.
