We have a number of senior stakeholders who need to be able to sign documents as themselves and on behalf of the company.

We know we can create multiple signatures so each has a unique name AND the same secondary signature I.E. Jim Smith and Joe Bloggs Inc.  Another partner will have Chris Adams and Joe Bloggs Inc.

  1. How do we select which signature is used when signing?
  2. Does the system track which individual signed on behalf of the company in the Certificate of Completion I.E. does it know it was Jim using Joe Bloggs Inc and not Chris?
  3. Can we make a system level signature that all affected individuals can access without all logging into the same account I.E a shared signature?

Any assistance greatly received.

Jason

Hello @Jason M ,

Welcome to the Docusign Community and thank you for posting your concerns!

Please see the below responses:

  1. The signature used during signing usually uses the same name as the one for the recipient, for example, if the sender enters the name on Chris with Chis@test.com any signature using that name under that email address is used but if the sender enters Bloggs Chris@test.com as the recipient, any signature with that name under that email address will be used.
  2. Not really, at least not if you do the option above.
  3. You can create an account for your company (one for I.E Jim Smith and another for Joe Bloggs Inc. and select a Delegated Signer, the delegated signer can use their own signature on behalf of the company and that will show in the Certificate of completion as shown below: Add a Delegate To Sign on Your Behalf

Let us know if you need further assistance with this.
