I am trying DocuSign for the first time. One issue jumped out at me straight away.

When downloading signed documents, the filenames are changed - underscores are inserted. Is it possible to set defaults for the filenames of the signed/downloadable documents?

This issue makes it difficult to use when copying the signed file back to its original save location. We use version control, so the signed version needs to have exactly the same name in order for version control to work. It is too time consuming (and prone to error) to manually change filenames back to the original.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out here in the DocuSign Community.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to remove the underscores when documents are downloaded from the web app, that is by design, however, feedback that can improve our users’ experience is always more than welcome.

We’ll provide it to the Product team that is closely aligned with the area associated with the feedback. They will review it and determine the next steps.

In the near future, we will have a Community section that is dedicated to customer suggestions/feedback. You all will have the ability to upvote on what’s important and needed.

If you’re a DocuSign Administrator for a corporate plan, you have the additional option of filing your request directly when you’re logged into your account. You’ll be able to click the “Give Feedback” button at the bottom of the screen in order to submit your idea.

Let us know if you need further assistance with this.

Best regards,

Hi,

Thanks for your detailed reply to my question - I understand now that it's not possible to set behaviour for the filenames as it is today.

I appreciate you forwarding this feedback to the product team and hope it gets taken on board!

Regards,

Ben

This is a really annoying feature actually. To remove the underscores every time.
