Dynamic field sizes

Is it possible to create envelope templates that have dynamic field sizes? For example, we have templates with static (text) field sizes that can include anywhere between a sentence and a full page of text. Using a static field thus can cause issues because the size is too small or otherwise too large (large blank spaces). Appreciate any ideas/suggestions.
