Production Backup for Docusign Implementation

Do we have a mechanism in Docusign where once the configuration is moved to production, do we have a backup of configuration for Production environment and lower environments? Is this basically driven by the packages we create? Can we have a system restore from a particular timestamp by the Docusign support team?

Scenario - In another CLM experience, once we went live, we did daily backups of Production env. and weekly backups of lower Dev or UAT system. This was done by the Cloud Ops team to enable a restore during the Hypercare period for any issues. Do we have something similar in Docusign?

Hello @SanalVenu

Welcome to the DocuSign Community!

Yes, in DocuSign, the configuration backup is largely driven by the packages you create. When you move configurations to the production environment, Deployment Package allows you to export configurations as packages.

Best Practice: You can save the current configurations into packages and keep them as backups, whether for production or lower environments, ensuring that you can roll back if needed.

thanks!

Thank you for your response, Pawan. We have certain limitations with packages, size of the package, everything cannot be moved by packages, security groups, folder security settings to name a few. These are manually performed in the higher environments. In summary, we would need to track these along with the created packages. To avoid these probable human errors, do we have a system snapshot that we can use to restore maybe from the backend or any OOTB feature?

I totally agree with you and In DocuSign CLM, we do not have a direct "system snapshot" feature to restore configurations or settings from the backend.

Since security settings and configurations are manually applied in higher environments, maintaining detailed documentation on these manual processes is key. A clear, documented process combined with regular reviews of environment configurations could act as a safeguard in case of any issues.

Thanks!
