Hello Community,

I am in the process of setting up a Clause Library in our DocuSign CLM and I’m looking for feedback.  Does anyone have any tips on the best way to set up the information for ease of use?

Any advice is welcome.

Thank you,

Nora Leonardo

Hello @NLeonardo

Welcome to DocuSign Community!

I would suggest if you had collection of pre-approved, standardized contract language then clause library is very impressive feature to use which you can utilize to create, edit, and manage contracts more efficiently and consistently.

Instead of explaining all the process of setting the up the clause library, I am sharing the links of support articles with you, where all the process is explained very well.

Create a Custom Clause Library with Clauses in Docusign CLM
Add Custom Clauses for Document Generation in Docusign CLM

Hope it helps.

Thank you Pawan.  I had used both of those instructions when setting up my clause library.

Do any other users have any tips or tricks they used for setting up the Clause Library so that it is easy to use and understand?

Thank you,

Nora

There are some restrictions you may face when you use clause library, if you compare to clause libraries from other CLMs.
Few of the issues i have faced;
1. Formatting options available for clauses is very restricted
2. Bullet points and sub-level listing of contents
3. Editing of clause content usually changes the previous formatting, example. Bold/Underline/bullet points etc keeps changing when the document in generated.
4. Work around - You can use an online html to text editor to preserve the formatting.
5. When pulling the clause library terms into your merged template does break the formatting if the template has not been pre-formatted with the appropriate style formatting.
