I cannot see checkbox boundary in a signed/completed document. Only “X” can be seen in the selected box. I can’t also see any option to change format in properties. Could anyone help?

If I understand correctly, you would like to get the square borders around the X when using a checkbox field, right?
There is no an option to make the borders shows up after the document be signed.
Usually, your document must have the squares (boxes) already placed where you would like to use the X (checkbox field).
About checkbox formatting, you can change the Font, size, and color using the Formatting option in the properties panel.
