Question

How do I resend a document sent on my behalf?

I own an insurance agency and work in an org that has a general contract with DocuSign for signature handling. What permissions do I need to ask my IT team to enable for me to re-send envelopes sent on my behalf?

Scenario:

  • I have a central service team that prepares documents for signature. Documents are sent to me and the client at the same time.
  • I am unable to re-send envelopes without accessing each record in Salesforce and using our salesforce integration button. The issue is the time it takes to access each policy(opportunity), navigate to the signatures section, and click re-send. I wish it were possible from within docusign rather than through an API link with my slow-as-hell CRM

Why:

  • I delegate responsibility for sending documents, but it is still my responsibility to ensure they are signed. I want to re-send this without having to do 9,000 clicks in the salesforce integration and/or wait for someone else to stop what they’re doing and handle my re-send request.

Need:

  • Re-send envelope immediately. Currently there is a “Move” button where ideally the “resend” button would go.
  • What permissions do I need to ask my IT team to grant?
  • If this functionality is not available, I have 24 documents outstanding - it has taken me about 46 minutes to re-send those documents using the salesforce integration path. Please consider this when prioritizing future feature additions

Hello @Joe Manzella,

Thank you for reaching out to the Docusign Community.

We have a feature called Shared access, the shared access feature in Docusign allows users to send and manage envelopes on behalf of others in their account. This feature is useful for delegating work or for teams who use a shared account. Shared access can be used through the Docusign eSignature UI or the Authorization API reference, providing a range of functionality including sharing access, sending envelopes, and managing envelopes on behalf of other users. More information at Share Access to Your Envelopes With Other Account Members.
