Sign already digitally signed doc

could you open the document in adobe reader or foxit reader the check the digital certificate panel. take a screenshot of this panel.

Yes, it is signed as QES. best practice is both signer sign in the same envelope. could you confirm with the sender whether this document is Signed by DocuSign or other solution. whether this envelope is completed if it is send by docusign.

Not sure about if it is signed with Docusign. 
but the case is that we get documents from client which is already having digital sign, and that is completely different company. After receiving doc as our requirement we have to add another set of signatures by using Docusign using API.

can we sign with new recipient on QES document again with DocuSign

I haven’t try it, not know whether the new QES digital certificate will repleace the old QES digital certificate. we need test it .

Welcome to the Docusign Community and thank you for posting your concerns!

It is recommended that all signers use the same application (either Docusign, Adobe or any other) to get all the needed signatures. After a document is signed it becomes locked, you can sign the document but it will invalidate any signature that was already on the document.

In other words, there isn’t an actual solution to that error other than sending a document again for signature and adding all the needed parties, or to invalidate the existing signature and have it signed on 2 different applications.
