App password and its use

Hi All,

I wanted to understand the concept of App password.

So normally we create a new account for each sandbox and connect it with salesforce.

Later in salesforce we create a named credential and give our username and instead of our password we put in the app password generated in docusign.

Should we be using different app password for different sandbox or how does it work.

i have 10 accounts in the same login username. so should i use 10 different app password ?

In this scenario, it might be advisable for the administrator to set up a secondary admin login for the remaining five accounts. You could potentially utilize an alias email address rather than establishing an entirely new email address for this purpose. I would also suggest creating a support case so that DocuSign Support can examine this issue with you in greater detail.

 

To open a support case in the Docusign Support Center, go to the "Get Support" section and select "Open a Support Case". Log in using your Docusign credentials and select a case subject. If you have multiple Docusign accounts, choose the appropriate account to continue. Open a case in the Docusign Support Center.

 

Note: Some advanced features and options are supported only in specific Docusign plans. Your account plan might not support some of the options discussed in this help topic. Contact your account administrator for more information about which options are available for your account. Or, visit our Plans and Pricing web page for more details on the features included with your plan. Compare eSignature plans & pricing.

To confirm, you'd like to know if you can use the same App Password for all 10 Docusign accounts for the Named Credentials. Is that correct? If so, kindly see below answers:

  • You must create a new App Password for each Docusign account. 
  • Our article states that if using the same account and there are different integrations, each integration must have a different password. 
  • So it must be a 1 to 1 relationship. 1 App Password per integration.

But app password has a limitation of 5. But i have 10 sandboxes in my account. so how do i cater for all 10?

Thank you for getting back to me. I have noted your question about catering to 10 sandbox accounts using the App password.

 

App Passwords and the passwords created with it are tied to the specific account. Therefore, they only apply to the account in which the password was created.  Meaning if you log into a different Docusign account, the App Password in the other account has its own set of up to 5 passwords it can generate.

Below is the screenshot of number of sandboxes i have with my one account. They all are under one dev account i have for docusign (I have only 1 login) So i have 10 sandboxes connected to it. And i can create only 5 app password. What should i do for remaining 5?

Or let me know the below setup is not the way i am supposed to configure the sandboxes.
