Should I be using DS Authority IDV or DS Electronic when e-notarizing?

We are committed to providing you with the best service possible. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, I understand that you want to know if you should be using DS Authority IDV or DS Electronic when e-notarizing.

 

If you are referring to the person who will act as the Notary, in Step 3 on the C sub Step of the guide Send an Envelope for Remote Online Notarization, If the notary uses a notarial digital certificate from IdenTrust, select Signer Held Notary U.S. If they use a notarial digital certificate from Docusign, select DS Authority IDV. If they don't use a notarial digital certificate, select DS Electronic.

 

Or are you referring to the normal recipient?

 

Note: Some advanced features and options are supported only in specific Docusign plans. Your account plan might not support some options discussed in this help topic. Contact your account administrator for more information about which options are available for your account. Or, visit our Plans and Pricing web page for more details on the features included with your plan. Compare eSignature plans & pricing.
