Formatting when using DocuSign Template Assistant

Hello!

I am using Microsoft Word with the Template Assistant for creating engagement letters. I have realized that when I use the Template Assistant and have applied contingency rules, there is extra spacing where the “hidden” contingent paragraphs are. Does anyone have a solution for this so that we do not have to backtrack every time to fix spacing and formatting?

Thank you!

This is what the template looks like, then when I mark it as “no,” so per the rule, it would “hide” the paragraph, it leaves extra spacing in the formatting where the paragraph would be should I have marked it as “yes” to be included. So, I am having to go back to re-format each generated document.

I am just trying to figure out if this is something I am doing or how I can avoid having to fix each document after I have generated it. It does this both in the DocuSign website and in Microsoft Word.

Thank you!

Hello @rew1128 ,

Thank you for reaching back.

I appreciate the further clarification and screenshots.

Can you try adding this after the endif (on same paragraph/line)?:

{{t:"SuppressParagraph", e: "Include_Quotes != 'Yes'"}}

The SuppressParagraph tag deletes an entire paragraph when the condition is true, so that might help in removing the unnecessary space.

Hello, @nathaly.monge!

I added it and it still did not get rid of spacing. I still have this spacing when I added that. I tried reformatting to have no space between the “{{endif}}” and “{{t:"SuppressParagraph", e: "Include_Quotes != 'Yes'"}}” and with a space between each one. It did not make a difference.
