Rich text enabled form field is getting filled with xml value

Question

I am sending a a document with form fields for signing. Some form fields are getting filled with xml values. I am assuming that these form fields have rich text formatting enabled. How do I make sure that the form fields dont get filled with xml as shown below

In order for Docusign to recognize PDF form fields, the fields must be configured as printable. The form field properties 'Visible' and 'Hidden But Printable' support the Docusign conversion process.
