What is the best way to deal with envelopes where the signer has printed a copy of the document and returned it to you hard copy, but not "finished" the envelope? We don't want to have to go back to the signer for anything after they have handled signing the document. Voiding sends them a notification, which causes confusion that what they hard-copy signed has been voided. Deleting also contacts them and does the same thing. How is best to close out those open envelopes when you have the signature you need, just not within DocuSign?

Thank you!

Hi, Welcome to the DocuSign Support Community! You can do a correction and try to remove the recipient from the envelope. If you are able to remove the recipient, you would then be able to void the envelope and they shouldn't receive the notification (since they're removed). This may or may not work since it depends on how the envelope was set up. This is not an action that is recommended as a good business practice. In the future, you can either (1) disable the ability to print and sign or (2) gently encourage the recipients to follow the guidelines on how to upload their signed document back into the DocuSign system so that the envelope will reflect the correct status of completed. DonnaDocuSign Support Community Moderator
