Question

Using Elastic Template with regular templates

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hello,

I’m looking into using Elastic templates.  When filling in the Elastic template, will we be able to read those field values with our existing Connect API?  We store the envelope contents based on those fields we write out to a text file before importing them into another application.

We currently use a cumbersome process where we have users ‘use a template’ and also upload a document type that matches a template we created.  We want to make the process easier for the user and build in more flexibility too.  Are we on the right track with Elastic templates to achieve this?   We want to continue to use our existing templates as well.  I’m not sure how they both can be used together or not.

Thanks

Maggie

@maggie.gallotti

Yes. Using Elastic Templates will still provide the same type of recipient “tab” (field) data back in the envelope completion message so that you can read those field values from DocuSign Connect in much the same way as with your existing templates. You can continue to use your existing templates alongside the new Elastic Templates—DocuSign does not force you to use one or the other exclusively.
