Hi, I’ve looked everywhere for this. On the left hand side of the Tools menu in Docusign, there is a Text feature. This would be for custom text that you want to add onto a document, such as a comment.

In my case, I have to use this feature quite a bit. Sometimes I have to add a client’s address, or a note, etc. And the text I need to add is much longer than the 40 or so characters allowed in that little box.

Is there any way at all to increase the number of characters allowed? Right now I am having to use like 4 text boxes for 8 words! The words can wrap if you use the little arrow to expand the box, but they only do so vertically, so it looks pretty bad!

I understand that you are looking to manage your text box’s character limit, and I will provide the steps to set this up.

 

After you have created your text box (or by clicking an existing field), you will be able to to add a character limit to your text box on the Field Properties menu, located at the right side of the screen.

 

You can enter your preferred character limit under the Add Text box, the default setting is 4000 characters.
