I received a new (revised) contract from a vendor stating that it had been renewed (without our knowledge) and signed. When I compare the original, which we do remember signing, and the new one, which we do not remember signing I noticed that the signature looks to have been copied. The original and new contracts have different “DocuSign Envelope IDs” as would be expected, but when I compare the signatures they are absolutely identical, with the same frame number and everything. Would this be evidence of tampering with the document and possibly pasting a signature from the original contract onto the new one? Is there another logical explanation that could possibly explain this?

For this situation, it is better to create a case with DocuSign Support and provide the support agent with the envelope ID so they can review the information, and provide you with the information.

You can check the envelope History and Certificate of completion if available to get more information. View the History or Certificate of Completion.

To open a support case in the Docusign Support Center, go to the "Get Support" section and select "Open a Support Case". Log in using your Docusign credentials and select a case subject. If you have multiple Docusign accounts, choose the appropriate account to continue. Open a case in the Docusign Support Center
