I can confirm the Phishing e-mails are still out there. I received one this morning, exactly like the one described above. Very effectively made, too. I couldn’t see any obviously phishy links, save for the odd e-mail address for PayPal customer support, and the fact that the first P of PayPal was a Ⓟ, easily missed if you were rushed.
I was mostly twigged by the letter, asking myself “why would PayPal care that I received money?”, “Why would Coinbase send me money” and “why would Docusign want me to sign something about this?”
I logged into my PayPal account directly from a different browser and saw no suspicious activity, then searched Google for “PayPal, Docusign, Coinbase scam” and pulled up a direct copy of the image above.
Always be mildly suspicious, and stay safe out there, everybody!
