I am sending out contracts to clients, the contract follows the same format every single time but depending on the number of people participating in the contract varies on how many signatures I require.

 

E.g 5 people using the service 5 signatures required / 6 people using the service 6 signatures required

 

At the moment I am having to manually edit the document then upload it to docusign each time I have to add a new signature line depending on how many people I require to sign this.

 

Is there an easier way of doing this? Can I set up some rules to help show or hide signature lines depending on how many people require to sign this doc?

I understand that you are looking to manage your template’s recipient roles automatically, and I will help clarify the topic for you.

 

The easiest way to approach this scenario would be by creating a template with the highest number of signatures possible. So you can delete as many recipients as needed when creating your envelope.

 

By deleting a recipient role in your envelope, you will be deleting all recipient configuration, such as fields and messaging, without affecting the original template configuration.

@Physio Along with the suggestion from @Alejandro.Ramos you could create several Templates with different documents and therefore a different number of Signature lines depending on the number of Recipients required.  If you had three Templates, one with a document containing 4 signature blocks, another Template with 5, and another with 6, then you could choose the appropriate Template for the task which might take less editing then a single Template with always 6 Recipients. There is also the option of using overlay Templates if the document is fully prefilled before uploading to an envelope and then you overlay the appropriate Template based again on the number of Recipients.  It tends to be about efficiency and the solution that works best for you and your team.
