Hi there,

I made an error in my document and need to go back and edit it. I have already saved it. How do I go back and edit?

It depends on what you mean by "Saved". If you're talking about a document you've uploaded to a template, then simply go into the template and (https://support.docusign.com/en/guides/ndse-user-guide-add-files) replace the document . Any fields and recipient info that was added to the document will be automatically transferred over. If the new document has fewer pages than the original, any tags on the disappearing pages will also disappear.

If you're talking about a document that you sent out for signature and the envelope was returned completed. Then you'd need to resend the new document out for signature again in a new envelope. You can (https://support.docusign.com/en/guides/ndse-user-guide-clone-documents) clone the old envelope and then replace the document before sending, but you'll need to resend it for signature.

There is no way to modify a signed completed DocuSign document without losing the token that verifies that the signatures are valid. This is done for auditing and security reasons. DocuSign doesn't want users to have the ability to modify the underlining documents after a signature has been placed. If that were possible then you'd be able to get a signer to place their name on anything without their knowledge.

Hope this helps.

In your DocuSign Manage TAB,

look in your DRAFT folder if you have not yet sent out the envelope.look in your SENT folder if you have already sent out the envelope.

Then simply CORRECT the envelope to make the changes needed, for example replacing the existing document with the corrected one.

Thank you both for the information. I have already sent it and we simply added an enclosure with the corrected information. There was no way to edit the document. Thank you again.
