Question

Force date format for external signers

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hello,

When sending an envelope to someone else to sign who is not part of my organization, is it possible for me to force the date to appear in a specific format?

Hello @AnkeFronius

Welcome to the DocuSign Community!

This behavior is determined by the default settings of your account, which can be configured under Settings > Regional Settings > Time Zone.

However, recipients who do not have an active DocuSign user account will be the exception to this rule. In this case, the time zone of the sender's account will be applied instead.

You can find more details on this topic, here:  How are time zone account settings used?

Thanks!

Hello, unfortunately, I was not able to resolve this and I am a bit more confused now.

  1. I have changed the settings in my profile selecting date format DD-MMM-YYYY as per screen shot below. However, when I send myself a test document for signature, the date still shows on format MM/DD/YYYY (see attachment). I read somewhere it needs to be changed by the account holder, is that true?
  2. Are the settings in my own acocunt supposed to dictace (a) the date format of all signatures  in an envelope sent out by me (except those of user with no active docusign account) AND/OR (b) the date format on my own signatures when receiving an envelope sent out by somebody else?
  3. For users with no active docusign account: what is the default date format
  4. How do I know if someone has an active account?

Thanks,

Anke

Hello @AnkeFronius,

I’m sorry to hear that the issue is still unresolved. I highly recommend that you contact your account administrator for this to be resolved as soon as possible.
Based on the screenshot you provided; it looks like you don’t have access to the Admin Tab where the regional setting should be properly set. This setting will be applied for the whole account that’s why it needed for the account administrator access. Kindly see screenshots below.
